Basic Purpose of Job:
Reporting to the Project Director, the Lead HSE Advisor is responsible for leading and managing the project HSEQ team in providing operational HSEQ support and guidance on legislative and management system compliance in line with company and client requirements.
To provide HSE advice to the project management team based in Aberdeen
Main Duties:
Development and management of the project HSEQ Improvement Plan.
Management of the project HSEQ Interface arrangements to ensure compliance with Project HSEQ contract and interface document requirements.
Ensure HSEQ interface document requirements are communicated to relevant personnel.
Manage HSEQ incident investigations and ensure appropriate action is taken to close out incident actions.
Develop and manage the project audit and assessment programme, justifying process improvements, identifying any deviations from standards and procedures and recommending appropriate actions
Promote and communicate project learning's and report any deficiencies within project and corporate functions, recording within the systems.
Ensure Emergency Response arrangements are in place and interface with the Client and Corporate Emergency Response teams.
Liaison with the Client, and relevant subcontractor representatives on a regular basis regarding HSEQ issues and HSEQ performance
Manage attendance and participation at relevant HSEQ meetings.
Maintain an effective system for monitoring HSEQ performance.
Facilitate awareness of quality principles and concepts, promoting the review and challenge of working practices and methods to enhance performance.
Reporting HSEQ issues and any areas of concern to project and corporate management.
Education & Qualifications:
NEBOSH Certificate
Lead auditor
NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ Level 4 IOSH (Preferable)
Trained in Accident Investigation, eg. TapRoot systems
Relevant Quality assurance qualification ie CQI diploma or equivalent
Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
Fully conversant with the requirements of UK, Onshore and Offshore regulatory requirements
Strong planning and organisational skills
Ability to work with and for multiple customers
Computer literate and competent in MS Office applications
Experience:
Broad HSEQ experience plus project experience
Management experience preferred such that Quality aspects are covered with dedicated QA adviser and fabrication coordinator
Proven track record on managing interfaces
Personal Skills:
Strong communication, networking and team working skills
Trustworthy and approachable
Highly developed influencing and interpersonal skills
